Youth & Young Adult Pastor 

The City of Promise has an opportunity for a Youth & Young Adult Pastor/Director. Candidates should first be a believer in Jesus Christ. We are looking for someone who has a charismatic teaching style with a background in teaching/leading an age range of 4 to 20.

The general responsibilities of the Youth & Young Adult Pastor/Director are to oversee the spiritual development of the youth and young adults of the church. To edify God through teaching, provide a worship experience for those he/she leads. The Director will report to the Executive Staff and work to capture the vision and philosophy of the Senior Pastor. He/she must be able to articulate and implement the vision and philosophy to other staff and volunteers who participate in the implementation process of leading the youth for the church.
• Oversee the spiritual development and social activity for elementary, middle & senior high school students
• Oversee the spiritual development and social activity for college-age young adults.
• Create and implement discipleship methods and systems for teaching and developing a relationship with God.
• Provide a creative and compelling atmosphere of worship and relevant teaching that is engaging and transformational.
• Partner with parents to establish strong communication for the application of the discipleship process at home.
• Establish the youth and young adult ministry in alignment with the vision of The City of Promise Church, providing continuity and consistency.

BIBLICALLY EQUIP and SHEPHERD the youth and young adults, together with the Pastors and Leaders to guide and support the worship planning process; to support God’s vision for the church together through our Pastor, at each individual worship opportunity; to support the Biblical vision of the Senior Pastor through teaching and preaching the Word of God and providing leadership to the youth department. The Director’s primary responsibility is to create an atmosphere for discipleship, learning, worship and growth.
The Pastor/Director will develop a long-range worship activity plan establishing the standards for all youth department activities, collaborating with the Executive and Assistant Pastor to ensure the established plans encompass and support God’s vision for the Church. He/she will be
held accountable for maintaining the teaching philosophy and vision during each worship opportunity through prayer, providing Biblical leadership, feedback, and mentoring, where needed to youth and volunteers serving in youth department. He/she will assist in identifying other useful resources, establish standards for youth activities and oversee the evaluation process
of those standards in order to identify progress in achieving the vision.
The Pastor/Director will identify and attend seminars and conferences on worship with other youth leaders as the opportunities are made available.

• Develop and plan major festive worship events
• Assist in planning various worship opportunities or special services that may assist in supporting the vision such as (concerts, plays, productions, etc.)
• Attend staff meetings, plan and conduct rehearsals and worship team planning meetings as often as needed

• Professed born again believer, full of the Holy Spirit; exemplified in daily living practices and relationships with others
• A mature, growing Christian leader with good moral character (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).
• Possess and demonstrate intimate knowledge of the Holy Bible
• Have passion for worship and a vibrant prayer life
• Possess vision for worship and the ability to express that vision
• Possess a pastoral mind for mentoring and developing leadership and gifts in others
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Student/Young Adult Ministry.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Track record of recruiting and building teams, including the development of young adult and adult
ministry leaders.
• A team player.
• Self-motivated.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to relate well with people of all ages.
• Must pass state and federal background check.
• 4-year college degree preferred
